Who We Are

The Bijapur Jesuit Educational and Charitable Society, here-in- after called the BJECS, is a registered, non-profit, non- sectarian, non-governmental, educational and charitable organization engaged in education, social action and training run by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). The headquarters of the BJECS is located in Bangalore and its administrative office is situated in Bijapur. It is managed locally by its representatives.

The BJECS has been working for the rights of the marginalized and the neglected sections of society. The institutions run by the BJECS strive to form men and women of competence, conscience, commitment and compassion. Empowering the voiceless to ascertain their due rights and privileges, has been the focus of the social wing of the BJECS. The BJECS has been at the service of the poor through its admission policy of preferential option for the poor and of conscientizing and working with the people who are marginalized in society.

These three highly valorised ideals are actually translated as:

a) The pursuit of academic excellence,

b) Commitment to social concern and equity, and

c) Engagement in social transformation.

These aspirations form, for all practical purposes, the bedrock on which any policy of Jesuit education and social action is based.

Vision: "Companions in Mission, Journeying with Others, towards Empowerment and Transformation of Communities."
